Anokhi Consulting Engineers is headed by Steve Greenfield, a Chartered Engineer with more than 35 years’ experience in the aerospace, industrial and academic condition monitoring arena.

He is a very well-known and highly-respected member of the condition monitoring and prognostics community and is actively involved in industry training initiatives to support the next generation of engineers. Steve is past Chairman and current Vice Chair of the British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing (BINDT) Condition Monitoring Technical Committee, which develops strategies, training and certification schemes for professionals and practitioners working in Condition Monitoring. He wrote the chapter on oil debris monitoring for the new condition monitoring text book that is recommended reading for apprentices and students taking condition monitoring degrees: The book is available from BINDT via their website  http://www.BINDT.org

He is also Chair of the Infrared Thermography working group, and a keen supporter of integrating real time condition monitoring into Industry 4.0 via the IOT “Internet of Things”.

Steve has been Vice Chair of the annual Condition Monitoring conferences for many years, this years will be held in Oxford 18-20 June, CM2024 is the UK’s premier conference covering all aspects of condition monitoring and prognostics.

Throughout his career, Steve has gained an enviable reputation not only for his technical knowledge and skill set but also for his ability to quickly assess situations that are costing valuable time and money, and to find the most practical and cost-effective solutions, often thinking outside the conventional box in the process. His area of expertise is lubricant and equipment health management by implementing oil quality and Oil Debris Monitoring Systems (ODMS), backed up by a sound understanding of Vibration Analysis, Thermography, Acoustic Emission and Ultrasound Monitoring methodology.

With a background in avionics and specialist test equipment, he has played a key role in Corporate, OEM and Regulatory Authorities’  R&D initiatives. One example is the UK Civil Aviation Authority’s Helicopter Health Monitoring Advisory Group (HHMAG), which was instrumental in legislating Health and Usage Monitoring Systems (HUMS) in the North Sea oil and gas industries.

As Lead Consultant, Steve will be prime contact for customers and will be personally involved with every project. For specialist support in areas such as equipment installation, laboratory services and commissioning, he will bring in highly-experienced professionals within the relevant technical fields, from the network he has built up over his years in the industry.
